Free roulette: learn a single-zero wheel on fun chips
Free roulette at Springbok means European Roulette, the lobby's only wheel, played in practice mode. Stay logged out, find its tile in the Specialty tab and choose Try It! to bet with a R1,000.00 fun balance. The wheel has one green zero, fun wins never pay out, and no betting pattern changes the margin that zero gives the house.
18+. Fun chips never pay out. Bonus wagering ignores roulette, so real play here means a plain deposit with no coupon, and a budget fixed first.

Where to find roulette in practice mode
Roulette is not filed under Table Games, which holds only card games. On 9 October 2026 the Specialty tab held 4 games: European Roulette, Keno, Banana Jones and Fish Catch.
Open the lobby logged out
Practice mode is for visitors who are not signed in, so sign out first if you have an account.
Go to Specialty
European Roulette is the only wheel there, and the only one in the lobby.
Tap the tile and choose Try It!
The table opens with R1,000.00 in fun chips. Play, the other button, is for real money.
Older Springbok pages still name American, French and Multiplayer Roulette, and some mention live dealers. None of those were in the lobby on the check date and its Live Dealer menu was empty, so European Roulette is the one wheel you can practise.
Inside and outside bets to try with fun chips
Inside bets sit on the numbers themselves; outside bets sit in the boxes around the grid. A European layout numbers its pockets 1 to 36 plus a single 0. These are the standard bets on that layout and how much of the wheel each one covers:
| Bet | Type | Numbers covered |
|---|---|---|
| Straight up | Inside | One number |
| Split | Inside | Two numbers side by side |
| Street | Inside | Three numbers across one row |
| Corner | Inside | Four numbers that meet at a corner |
| Six line | Inside | Six numbers across two rows |
| Dozen | Outside | Twelve: 1-12, 13-24 or 25-36 |
| Column | Outside | Twelve, down one column |
| Red or black | Outside | Eighteen |
| Odd or even | Outside | Eighteen |
| Low or high | Outside | Eighteen: 1-18 or 19-36 |
Standard European layout. Springbok publishes no payout table for its wheel, so check the game's own rules screen before relying on a figure.
Springbok says its single-zero wheel takes up to R1,000 on inside bets and R10,000 on outside bets. In fun mode the limit that matters more is the one you set yourself, so bet the size you would bet with rand.
The quickest way to learn a payout in practice mode is to watch one happen. Put one fun chip on a single number and another on red, and compare what each returns when it lands. That is a lesson about the rules, not about the next spin. For limits and rules in more depth, see this bet-by-bet guide to Springbok's roulette.
A practice session that teaches you something
Learn the layout
Place each bet in the table once, so you know where splits, corners and six lines go before a real chip ever does.
Fix a stake and a spin count
Use the chip size you would use with rand, and decide in advance how many spins you will play. Rounds are quick, and changing stakes after wins or losses is a habit worth not rehearsing.
Watch the zero
None of the outside bets covers 0. See what happens to them when it lands: that single pocket is where the house's margin lives.
Why no betting system beats the zero
Every spin is independent. The wheel keeps no memory of the last result, so red is no more likely after five blacks in a row. Systems that raise or lower the stake after a win or a loss only rearrange a session's ups and downs; the margin built into the zero applies to every bet you place, with fun chips or rand.
A doubling system shows the problem quickly. After seven losses in a row, the next bet is 128 times the first chip, more than everything lost on the run so far, and a balance or a table ceiling stops the climb long before the maths turns friendly.
Springbok publishes house-edge figures for its card tables but not for roulette, so this guide prints none for the wheel.
From fun chips to rand
Ready for real money?
Only when the fun chips have taught you the layout, and only with a budget written down. Roulette sits outside Springbok's bonus wagering list, and a bet on a left-out game while a bonus is still being wagered can wipe the bonus and its winnings, so the clean route to the real wheel is a deposit with no coupon at all.
Play without a bonus
- Open an account, pay in rand and skip the Redeem Coupon box.
- No bonus playthrough: the T&Cs simply want each deposit played through once before you cash out.
- Keep to the stake you practised with.
Budget first. Fix the most you are willing to lose before any deposit, and walk away once it is spent.
R250 chip? It is a slots-first offer; the free slots guide covers it.

Questions people ask
Can I play roulette for free at Springbok?
Yes. Without signing in, open the lobby's Specialty tab, tap European Roulette and choose Try It!. You bet with a R1,000.00 fun balance that cannot be withdrawn.
Is Springbok's roulette European or American?
European, with a single zero. Older Springbok pages mention American, French and Multiplayer versions, but the lobby carried only European Roulette on 9 October 2026.
Is there live roulette at Springbok?
Not on the check date. The lobby's Live Dealer menu listed no games, so the wheel you can practise is a software game.
Does roulette count towards Springbok's bonus wagering?
No. Roulette is not on the T&Cs list of games that count, and betting on a game left off that list before wagering is finished can void a bonus. Play roulette without a coupon.
Can a betting system that works in free roulette work with real money?
No. Each spin is independent, and changing stake sizes does not change the margin the zero gives the house. A system that seems to work on fun chips simply has not met its losing run yet.
